Today is the 1st of May and Mother's Day is fast approaching! Do you have your marketing initiatives in place? If not, don't fret. I have a few tips to get you started.

1. Firstly, decide on your goal.
It could be one of two things... make money or make more money. Just kidding! But seriously. Obviously your goal is to get those seats filled! Why else would you be reading this blog?
2. Secondly, decide on the type of promotion.
You could offer a freebie to entice customers. This could range from a free coffee or truffle with any purchase to a grand prize of a spa package for one lucky winner.
Perhaps you want to offer your customers an experience to remember. This could be in the form of a special menu for the day; whether that be a set priced offering such as a two course lunch with a glass of sparkling wine on arrival or a 5 course degustation with paired wine flights.
You could promote your point of difference. What makes your establishment special? If you're family friendly then hire some entertainment and put on some activities for the kids. If your business is the white table cloth sort of place then push a day of indulgence with live music and a single stem rose for all mums.
Everyone likes to support a good cause. Why not team up with a charity and raise funds with all proceeds going to their cause. You can do so by featuring an art showcase around your establishment in addition to selling ticket sales with all proceeds going to your chosen charity.
3. Lastly, promote across all channels.
You should push your promotion across all channels including social media, website, email marketing, in store, advertising and any third parties your business is associated with such as building management, local council, concierges at nearby hotels, a reservations system such as TheFork, rewards program such as the Entertainment Book, HeyYou or Qantas Rewards.
Now that you've done everything possible to get the word out there, you're bound to reap the rewards of your hard work this Mother's Day with droves of people coming through the doors.
